You can get your Entei V powered up pretty early on however thanks to a wide range of cards to support it, meaning you can start powering up Arcanine quickly with Magma basin while your Entei V is doing the heavy lifting. It’s a lot easier to start dishing out damage with Entei V than it is to get those three energies onto Arcanine. To play Arcanine ex well, you’re going to want to save powering him up for second.
